त्रिपिंडी श्राद्ध
Tripindi Shradh
Peace for three generations of ancestors
Pitra Dosh Nivaran Puja
Clearing the ancestral karmic debt
Pitra Dosh appears when the Sun, Rahu or Ketu afflict the ninth house or when ancestors remain without proper rites. The Nivaran Puja repays that debt through tarpan, pind daan and havan, opening the way for progress and progeny.
Understanding the ritual
Pitra Dosh is read in the kundali when Rahu, Ketu or Shani afflict the ninth house or the Sun — the karaka of the father and of the ancestral line. It marks an unpaid debt to the pitrus rather than a fault of the person carrying it.
The puja pacifies the souls of the ancestors through tarpan, pind daan and havan, and asks their blessing for the generations that follow. In tradition, a satisfied pitru is the strongest protection a family has.
Families come with property matters that will not settle, sons or daughters whose marriages keep breaking, difficulty conceiving, or wealth that never accumulates however hard everyone works. Once the pitrus are pacified the same matters tend to resolve quietly, without confrontation.
The vidhi

Devotee experiences
Our property matter had gone to court twice. After the tarpan and pind daan at the Godavari, the family sat and settled it among ourselves within a month. My mother says the house feels lighter.
